There is no problem with laser cutting straight lines, but there are burrs when cutting right-angle sharp corners and small arcs. What should I do?
There is no problem with laser cutting straight lines, but there are burrs when cutting right-angle sharp corners and small arcs. There may be the following reasons and solutions:
(I) Cutting parameter settings
The corner speed setting is unreasonable: When cutting right-angle sharp corners and small arcs, the movement speed of the machine will change. If the corner speed is set too slow, the laser stays at the corner for too long, which will cause the material to overburn and produce burrs.
Solution: Speed up the corner speed by adjusting parameters such as curve control accuracy, corner control accuracy, processing acceleration and processing low-pass frequency. Specifically, increasing the values
Irrational power setting: When cutting right-angle sharp corners and small arcs, if the power is not adjusted accordingly, it may cause the material to overheat and produce burrs.
Solution: Use the power curve function, check the real-time power adjustment, and then click the curve edit. Select the smoothing mode in the lower left corner to ensure a smooth transition of the curve. Adjust the power by dragging the points in the curve. The upper part indicates the power and the lower part indicates the speed percentage. If there are many burrs at the corner, you can reduce the power by lowering the position of the left point, but be careful to avoid reducing it too much and causing the corner to not be cut through.
(II) Laser beam focus position
Focus position deviation: Deviations in the upper and lower positions of the laser beam focus will prevent the energy from being well concentrated on the workpiece, resulting in insufficient vaporization of the workpiece, increased slag production, and difficulty in blowing off, thus forming burrs on the cutting surface.
Solution: Adjust the position of the laser beam focus and adjust it to the optimal state according to the offset.
(III) Laser cutting machine output power
Insufficient output power: If the output power of the laser cutting machine is not enough to fully vaporize the metal material, a large amount of slag and burrs will be generated.
Solution: Check whether the laser cutting machine is working normally. If not, timely maintenance is required; if normal, check whether the output value is correct and adjust the laser power to the appropriate size.
(IV) Auxiliary gas
Insufficient gas purity: If the purity of the auxiliary gas does not meet the required standard, it will affect the blowing effect of the slag and cause burrs on the workpiece.
Solution: Replace the high-purity auxiliary gas.
Irrational gas pressure: If the gas pressure is too low, the slag cannot be effectively blown away; if the gas pressure is too high, the cutting surface may be uneven and burrs may be generated.
Solution: Adjust the appropriate gas pressure according to the thickness and material of the cutting material.
(V) Equipment status
The equipment has been working for too long: If the laser cutting machine works for a long time, it may cause the equipment to be in an unstable working state, resulting in burrs.
Solution: Turn off the laser cutting machine and let the equipment rest for a period of time before restarting and running it to give it a full rest.
